Kern County’s golf courses have played host to several professional events, including stops on the Hogan and Nike tours, and a number of U.S. Open and PGA qualifiers.
Kern County’s overall climate is ideal for golf – sunny, dry and warm. All but the county’s highest elevations experience mild winters. Mountain courses provide a refreshing respite from the summer heat, while the low humidity in Kern County’s valley and desert regions make summer golf there equally comfortable.
Nowhere in California will you get as much value for your golfing dollar. Weekday green fees start at less than $20 on public courses, and some private courses offer limited reciprocal play with your hometown club membership. Or, take advantage of one of the special golf packages offered by area hotels and RV parks.
