The Rabobank Arena is also home to the three-time national champion Cal State University Bakersfield men's basketball team and the Bakersfield Blitz of Arena Football 2. It is also a regular pre-season stop for the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and NHL's Los Angeles Kings.

Each spring and summer Kern County is home to professional baseball with the Bakersfield Blaze, a Class-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers; and the Bakersfield Brigade, a member of pro soccer's Premiere Developmental League. In the fall the action moves indoors with the Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League taking the ice at Rabobank Arena.
