| The Board of Trade develops the official brand for use in countywide marketing campaigns. Logos and materials featuring the county brand are made available to tourism partners via the on-line web tool kit. |
| The department regularly produces a county/city map, which includes both a full Kern County map and street maps of individual communities. The map is available through the tourism center at a retail cost of $3.95. Qualified organizations may purchase maps for resale, in blocks of 25, at a cost of $1.50 each.

| Designated the county film commission by the Board of Supervisors, the Board of Trade serves as the official liaison with the commercial film and photography industry. The film commission provides location and permit research assistance, issues the official County of Kern Commercial Filming Permit, and maintains a database of local filming sites, crew and production services. |
| Staff provides assistance and logistical support for 501c-3, 501c-6 and other not-for-profit organizations promoting tourism in Kern County. Audio/video production services and a photo-image library are also available.

| The Board of Trade produces the official county visitor guide and other publications available for distribution by its tourism partners. Other publications include guides highlighting museums, Basque dining, hiking, camping, watchable wildlife and high-tech tourism. |
| The Board of Trade offers a wide assortment of Kern County-branded merchandise through an on-site gift boutique. T-shirts, coffee mugs, magnets, pins, caps and other merchandise area available for purchase. Items may also be purchased in bulk for resale through approved vendors. |
| The Board of Trade serves as the lead agency for special events on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, including the Kern Products Dinner at Sacramento and the State of the County Breakfast. The department also produces regional mixers in partnership with local interests, fostering cooperation in the promotion and development of Kern County. |
| The Board of Trade administers the county’s Tourism Promotion Grant Program on behalf of the Board of Supervisors. The County of Kern annually provides grants to qualified non-profit organizations to fund projects that develop, promote and/or expand tourism in Kern County. The grant cycle begins each October with the publication of application packets. Submissions take place in December with grants tentatively awarded the following March following review by a selection committee and approval by the Board of Supervisors.

| The Board of Trade produces a tourism map distributed to visitors through the Kern County hospitality industry and the county tourism center. The advertiser-supported publication includes information on attractions and suggested driving tours highlighting each of the county’s regions. Maps are available in bulk for distribution by qualified Kern County organizations. |
